Design Brief
Spanning 12,500 sq.ft in Dharmapuri, Tamil Nadu, this residence is rooted in the concept of a "pocket of happiness"—an architecture of openness, ventilation, and light. The planning is zoned to distinctly separate public, semi-private, and private realms across two levels.
Courtyards, bridges, and cut-outs punctuate the layout, promoting movement, pause, and natural flow.

The façade composition plays with floating planes, voids, and timber articulations that modulate privacy and scale. Circular skylights, deep overhangs, and projecting timber screens break the mass and create a layered spatial rhythm. Each material and form serves both function and articulation, from solar shading to framing curated views.
Internally, the public zones like living and dining extend into semi-private lounges and verandahs, while bedrooms and family spaces remain tucked into the rear. Volumetric shifts, framed vistas, and interspersed greens enhance spatial legibility and environmental comfort. The project reflects SCULT DESIGN LAB’s architectural ethos—responsive, spatially coherent, and human-centered.
